life is tough
well, gotta say it man, rough days are ahead. the whole day was wasted in filling the GATE 2005 form. today was the last day and i was filling the online form. first i was searching for a scanner so that i could get my signature scanned. then suddenly it came to me that i could take a pic through the cam on my friendZ mobile and then transfer that to my laptop. so then spend about half an hour taking the pic, resiZing it, adjusting the contrasts, etc. then went for lunch. pathetic food. so as usual i had a pepsi. and that was it. then started looking for ppl with a SBI account or an ICICI credit card. no luck. ppl had either reserved slots on someones cards or the guy had run out on his limit. then finally got hold of swamy whose dad has an SBI account. now hes the kindoff guy who luves to do it at teh last second. anyway had to shoot of for a special lecture by Mr. Chirag Patel, CEO of Net4Nuts. my college has got this special lecture thing where every week or fortnight someone from the industry or teh academecia comes and lectures us on topics they think intresting. so today twas the turn of this guy.. infact we were the ones who asked him to come down here. and 'we' refers to the four of us who have started a company named 'Blue MemeZ'. (im teh CTO of teh Company). we wanted to discuss and convince him on collaborating with us to server his multii-million dollar clients in Europe. after his lecture we made a short 10 min presentation to him on what we have done, what we can and what we wanna do. he really started shooting us on the fact that our work was not innovative an all. i was like, man u think product innovation is easy??? somehow due to the presence of other non-essential elements or otherwise we coulnt convey to him what we were really looking for. im suppsoe to have a discussion with ankit(the CEO of Blue MemeZ) as in what our next step whould be. yeah so after an hour of this lecture and presentation i got back to swammy who some how delayed the job(of filling his own form) upto 7:00pm. then we looked for a bike so that we could go to the ATM and make the required payment. then the news came ein that all SBI ATMs in Gandhinagar were not working. we contemplated going to Ahmedabad but were saved when we got the news that there was one working in sector 10B. we got hold of 2 ATMs both of which had a combined balance of 5000 bucks. we were to pay for 4 forms. 4*850=3400. no sweat. reached SBI ATM at about 10 only to find that the ATm dint accept one of the cards. now we were real short of money. we finish 2 of the payments with the first ATM and get to a STD by about 10:30. swamy calls up his dad to ask hime to use his card only to find out he had noted the wrong application number. back at the institute we finally get it done by 11:00. whooosh. long day. and yeah just think of what lies ahead for november.
i gotta make a 20 min presentation on fuzzy controllers. i know some stuff about fuZZy logic and all but 20 mins??? and i have no idea what kindoff stuff i can demonstrate in software. gotta really drill into this topic
i gotta complete my embedded syatemZ project(whic we have not yet started). i think we have picked up the toughest project. we are suppose to synchronize 2 robots in their activities. im thinking of something in the lines of distributed topology creation. suppose u have and room u wanna clean it. lets assume u have n bots to clean the room. initially the n bots have no idea about the dimensions/size/shape of the room. they just start of randomly in any direction, co-operating with each other to achieve the goal. in the process they would build a gobal topolgy of the area as in where the boundaries are, what obstacles are there inbetween so as to more effeciently clean the room the next time. figuring out whether a given room is the same as previous is a different question altogether and which i dont think we would like to address. my friends think im going too far as our first obstacle is dumping a kernel into a chip and making the robot work as we want it to(move left, right, forward, backward). i guess we would scale it down if we run out of time(which we do always)
i gotta finish my grid computing project. we started of with the intent of doing something in the area of service gridZ. we have already achieved JTI(just in time integration) of but now we are finding it hard to webServices (dynamic, stubless execution) using UDDI4J, SOAP4J, Apache Axis and WSDL4J.differentiate b/w webServices and gridServices. maybe we`ll just provide support for some WSDL extensions and write some custom serialiZers/ deSerialZers. after all ours is one of the only3-4 groups that would have completed projects. have been doing pretty much reading on this and if u see my del.icio.us(which i started using recently) feeds for yesterday i was posting like mad.
im alos looking into building a moZilla based SOAP browser. still gotta look at the feasabilitiy.
on another note, i seriously think i gotta start applying for jobs at companies. now that im not that much intrested in pursuing my mtech or ms right now i must get a job. our first placement season is over and i foolishly dint appear for all of the companies. just think i dint appear for reliance infocom, TCS, Intera IT, HP, Mahindra-British Telecom, Infosys and many more. frankly i dont seem to be inspired to work in the likes of TCS or Infosys. they are not a google or a microsoft. given teh likes i would like to work in IBM, SAP or Oracle. i also like some middle level indian companies like Persistent and MindTree. let see what happens
i also gotta start thinking about my bTech project which is going to be a 23 credit elephant. i wanna somehting in the AI domain, but havent got any ideaZ yet. i was looking at automatic CPPA negotiation(about which ill post some time later) in ebXML about a couple of months ago and had interacted with one of the main members of the OASIS CPPA subcommite member. lets see where i can take it.
ans so ladies and gentlemen, life is tough
